Takbeer-e-Tahrima must be recited verbally in both individual and congregational Salah for the validity of the Salah, otherwise the Salah is invalid.

It is commonly noticed that many people raise their hands to the ears when commencing the Salah but neglect reciting Allahu-Akbar and hence omit an integral part of the Salah.
