The love for Allah Ta’ala is in reality Tawheed (Oneness). In addition, it is the originality of our worship. The heart is never in peace and never satisfied except in His worship & His love. Tawheed cannot be achieved without the servant loving Allah Ta’ala. Allah Alone is our Rabb, our Creator upon whom we are entitled to worship before even considering the infinite bounties granted to us and the unlimited compassion and kindness shown to us. Hence, it is incumbent on every sensible person to recognise Allah Ta’ala. “And those who believe, love Allah intensely” (Surah Baqara) because their love (for Allah) is unstoppable. They are grounded and firm in their love for Allah Ta’ala and choose none other than Him. They proclaim, One Allah – do not ascribe partners with Him – worship Him Alone and depend entirely on Him; and, confer every matter to him.
We love the Prophet s (AS), those who are truthful (Siddiqeen), the friends of Allah Ta’ala (Ayuliya) and pious because they love Allah Ta’ala. Our beloved Nabi Muhammad (Salallahu Alayhi Wasallam) loves Allah Ta’ala most dearly – more than the entire creation since he is Habibullah (beloved of Allah) and Khalilullah (friend of Allah).
The love of Allah Ta’ala should be our greatest wish and foremost acquisition.
