Q: Should one slaughter an animal for our beloved Prophet (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam) and those that have passed on?    

A: It is preferable for one who has the means over and above his compulsory Qurbaani, to make Qurbaani on behalf of Nabi (Sallallaahu Alayhi Wa Sallam) and those that have passed on. However, this is not obligatory. Rather it is a virtuous voluntary act.
